Make Your Own Oatmeal Facials at Home with these Simple Recipes
Using ingredients found in your kitchen, you can give yourself a facial that is almost the same as what you’d pay for at the spa. The truth is that the best facials are made from natural ingredients. Oatmeal is one of the ingredients to use for cleansing and moisturizing your skin. Lots of people use oatmeal in body products. Use the following oatmeal based facials to help cleanse and moisturize your skin.
Warm up half a cup of purified water in your microwave for a couple of minutes. In a bowl, mix together instant oatmeal, honey, cinnamon, and toddlers milk. Add the heated water to the bowl of ingredients and mix to create a paste. After testing the temperature to make sure your face can handle it, apply to your face. Apply evenly over your face, avoiding your eyes. Leave the mask on your face for 30 to 60 minutes. After that time, wash it off with water and papaya soap, which can be found in most organic sections of the grocery store. If you don’t want to use papaya soap you can use whatever soap you have on hand.
The next recipe we have to share includes two tablespoons of cooked oats and a tablespoon or plain unflavored yogurt. Be sure that you mash the cooked oats as you mix the ingredients together. Before applying to your skin be sure the oats are completely broken down. If your mixture is too thick it can be thinned with more yogurt or a little bit of milk. Spread onto skin just as you would a cream taking care to avoid your eyes and let sit. After you’ve allowed the mask to dry use warm water to remove and pat dry. Follow it with your usual toner and moisturizing routine.
The following recipe is great for especially dry skin. Use a tablespoon of dry oatmeal to massage your skin first. To moisturize try adding a mashed banana to 3 ounces of yogurt just like a cream. Be sure to spread evenly but not into the eyes. Allow this to sit for twenty minutes before rinsing it off with warm clean water.
Perhaps you want to experiment with your own recipe this is ok too. Try to remember that if you have sensitive skin, you should do a patch test for each recipe before you spread them across your whole face. With some luck you’ll find a recipe that works well for your sin without the expense of the spa.
