Wrinkles and Aging
Wrinkles! Wrinkles are something that everybody eventually gets if they live long enough, and something that nobody wants no matter how long they might live. People well into their 80s and 90s still apply anti-wrinkle cream before they retire for the night. We never give up, but there really hasn’t been all that much progress made in preventing wrinkles, even though billions and billions have been spent in the pursuit of wrinkle prevention.
The amount of TREATMENTS for treating wrinkles once they have formed is enormous. We can have face lifts and eye lifts, dermabrasion, laser skin resurfacing, chemical peels, among other things, which are all cures for wrinkles after they have already formed. However, there is no magic little pill that prevents the formation of wrinkles.
In order to prevent wrinkles from forming we use ointments, lotions and creams that we apply to our faces. Some of these products will actually work to delay wrinkles by a few days, but none of them will actually prevent wrinkles from ever forming.
Completely preventing wrinkles from forming is impossible, but by simply avoiding the harmful sunrays, you can delay the process by several years. Working on that beautiful healthy suntan is very harmful. You are actually aging your skin causing more and deeper wrinkles than you would have had by just staying in the shade.
We can avoid smoking cigarettes ourselves and avoid being close to people who do smoke cigarettes. Smoking yourself will cause wrinkles to form around the mouth, and being exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke causes you to squint and lines to form around your eyes.
There is no way to prevent wrinkles altogether, but we can put them off as long as possible by taking extra good care of our skin now.
