Natural Ways To Improve Your Memory

September 20th, 2010

Forgetful? Do you think it is a sign of age? It could be, but actually there are natural therapies, which can stop memory loss and reverse it. Dr. Anju Mather who runs Angel Longevity Medical Center in Los Angeles has been handling patients with memory loss to great success. She shares here some of the information she has accumulated from treating numerous patients.

There are often jokes made about the elderly forgetting things – people over 50 even laugh at themselves about it. But it’s really not very funny when a person can’t find something he just had or forgets why he or she walked into the room. It is a heartrending situation because something can be done about it. Memory loss is a very current issue. It is true that people often become forgetful as they age, and some even progress to Alzheimer’s disease and cannot even recognize their loved ones. They are relegated to a nursing home or assisted living facility.

You can treat memory loss with proper nutrition and hormones, and also detoxification of heavy metals to improve the memory. Those are the three different areas I look at. Proper nutrition is easily handled by changing eating habits. Hormones that are lacking can be replaced with bioidentical (exactly the same as the body produces) hormones. Heavy metals can be removed from the body.

We test everything, find out what a person needs, then give them the appropriate supplements and hormones to rebalance everything and make them better. It is not the same program for every person, because different things can be wrong. That is why we do the testing – to develop a tailor made program for each individual.

An Easy Handling

When the cause of memory loss indicated in the tests is heavy metals in the body, chelation therapy is the recommended treatment. Chelation involved introducing a chelating substance into the bloodstream using an IV drip. A chelating substance will attach itself to particles of heavy metals and thus allow them to be eliminated. The results are pretty spectacular for such an easy fix.

Once lab tests are done and we can tell which hormones are insufficient in the body, a program can be made up for the individual patient to replace the hormones that are lacking.

I had a patient walk in who said to me: “Please help me, my boss is ready to fire me, I keep forgetting where my files are.” We treated her with hormones called tregnenolone. I saw her two months later and she didn’t think she had a memory problem anymore. She still had her job and said that her boss wanted to see us.

It is true that years go by and each of us gets older. But it is not necessary to endure the symptoms of growing old. These things, such as memory loss, can be prevented.

We all have the choice between growing older gracefully and productively, or experiencing a period of slow decay and deterioration. The choice is up to you.

You can enjoy your life more when you feel better! Have the energy and vitality that you had in your 20′s and 30′s. Find out more now – go to Angel Longevity Medical Center. Find out more about Chronic Fatigue and Anti-Aging

How to Increase Brain Power – Try This Tip

February 28th, 2010

Did you know you can increase brain power just by walking alone? Research shows that people who walk are doing a huge service for their brains. As a person walks the blood circulates faster. At the same time more glucose and oxygen are sent to the brain. This is possible because walking is a very low impact type of exercise.

Exercising using fast paced movements means that your body will absorb the increased glucose and oxygen and it will never actually reach the brain. However, by walking and allowing the body to send that oxygen and glucose to your brain, your stress levels will decrease. People who enjoy walking regularly experience increased concentration and are also more receptive to learning new things.

However, you suffer from aching joints or other maladies, you might be concerned that regular walking will exacerbate the conditions. But the truth is that walking releases endorphins that your body is already producing. This increased endorphin production will increase your overall energy levels. In addition to leaving you with more energy, you will also experience a decrease in pain as endorphins also help to relieve pain.

Because walking is totally low impact, anyone and everyone can easily do it. It\’s an easy and inexpensive activity to use when you want the physical exercise your body needs. Along with the physical benefits, the workout for the brain is what maintains it\’s vitality as well. You can invite a friend along if you need motivation, or walk by yourself.

Another option is taking your children along for companionship. Even if the children are in strollers, being out with you affects their mental and physical health. Children love being physical from the time they start walking, so they will enjoy the exercise of going with you on a daily basis. It also creates a lifelong habit they will continue to follow when they grow up. It assures them of healthy mental abilities when they\’re young as well as future adults.

They will stay that way too instead of slipping as they get older. You can get them a stroller or a wagon to help keep the pace rapid until they are old enough to keep up with you. Many parents walk at tracks around playgrounds too. This is perfect because the children get to play while you walk. Yet you can still keep a close eye on them while you do so.

Yes, you too can finally increase brain power quickly with some helpful advice. If you are serious about wanting to increase brain power and getting better scores on school, then check out this website that gives you how to increase brain power.

Improving Concentration – Improve It By Doing Math

February 26th, 2010

When it comes to improving concentration, here\’s one idea you may not have thought of. As adults we tend to rely on other methods for calculating things. As a result our skills aren\’t nearly as sharp as they used to be. Simple math can become a struggle if you don\’t work on it.

We rely on calculators to prepare our monthly budgets, reconcile our checking accounts, and do routine calculations. When we put together spreadsheets, there is no need for us to make sure our figures are correct, as most of these programs perform automatic calculations.

As your skills significantly improve you need to challenge yourself to do more of the math in your head and this helps in improving concentration. This is more difficult but as you work at it you will find that you are able to do it in no time at all. You will be able to quickly determine how much of the bill is yours as well as how much of a tip you should leave based upon your balance that is owed.

When you go back to doing math by hand and in your mind it is going to take you more time than before. This can be frustrating if you deal with numbers often throughout the day. You will be pleasantly surprised too as you notice your skills improving concentration over the course of time.

However, make a rule that you only use it after you have made a very good attempt to get the answer on your own. You can use the calculator as a way to verify that your answers are correct. The more your challenge yourself to do your math by hand or in your mind the more your mind is going to benefit. When we stop using a part of our brain functions we will lose them.

Before you waste a lot of time on any improving memory programs, be sure to check out this blog that gives you free tips and tricks on improving your memory.

How to Improve Memory Quickly With This Strategy

February 17th, 2010

We frequently take the manner in which our brain functions as a given. Something that you can do to be good to your brain is to give it daily stimulation prior to arising from bed. It is not a lengthy process and it will help you to approach each day with a positive attitude.

How to improve your memory? Set your alarm for ten minutes earlier than you have to be out of bed. This way you can relish the time to stimulate your brain and not worry about being late for work. Stretch each part of your body and really focus on it when you are doing so.

This will stimulate your brain before you even get out of bed, and it will also stimulate the nerve endings to your brain. By taking the time to focus on these morning stretches you will find that you start every day on a better foot and will have more energy. This stimulating will also help keep you safer as you go through your day.

Stimulating your brain will give you more energy and it will also make you more alert as you are on your commute and as you more through the day. As children we are naturally visual.

You can also work on improving your memory. It is possible to actually go back in time by incorporating certain things into your daily morning routine. One way is to imagine that you are a lovely princess or highly successful rock star before you even think about getting out of bed. This stimulates your brain as you focus on the great details of what your life would be like then. As you imagine this alternative life, work all of your senses into the imagery.

The more you involve all of your senses and your imagination, the more your brain wil be stimulated and the more it will benefit. It\’s also a good idea to have some classical music by your bed that you can turn on and enjoy even before you get up. Take just ten minutes to focus on the sounds of classical music. This will open up your mind, stimulate your brain and also prepare you for the day.

After a while you will get to know the music and it will be easy to slip into thinking of other things while listening. But do not do so and make a concerted effort to concentrate with your full attention on the music for the ten minutes. Certain people favor going through this exercise prior to bed to aid in unwinding. So as a general rule, true stimulation of your brain is best accomplished by performing these exercises at the start of the day.
