How To Choose A Pimple Treatment For Your Acne

July 19th, 2011

In the long run, the most effective pimple treatment method depends upon the type of pimple you have. Treating the pimples or acne is a lot easier when you comprehend what’s going on with your skin. The most common form of acne is acne vulgaris, which includes papules, pustules, whiteheads and blackheads.

When a pore is entirely blocked, bacteria, sebum (oil) and old skin debris become contained below the surface and your spot becomes white. When the follicle is only partly clogged, some of the obstruction is able to slowly empty towards the skin’s surface. This results in blackheads, that are caused by the reaction regarding your skin’s oils and the oxygen in the air. If you suffer from whiteheads or blackheads, an effective cleansing routine is the first important part of your treatment plan. A salicylic acid cleanser will thoroughly cleanse your skin and remove oil, dirt along with other microbes. If you have sensitive skin, go for a non comedogenic mild cleanser that will not aggravate your skin. Twice daily cleansing (night and morning) is the initial step toward better looking skin. It is crucial to make sure you always get rid of all traces of makeup prior to going to your bed at bedtime.

A good zit treatment solution dabbed directly onto the whitehead or blackhead and even left during sleep is sometimes good at clearing it up. Make sure your hands are nice and clean before you apply the spot treatment solution. Simply wash it off the following morning. Several organic zit remedies, like tea tree oil, lime juice, or even fenugreek paste, may be used in lieu of an over the counter treatment.

Several cosmetic dermatologists recommend against popping your pimple, no matter what variety it is, but others may recommend it as a last resort. You should be aware that popping may result in bleeding and red marks, and may result in long term scarring. Primarily spots having a white-colored head ought to be popped, either whiteheads or pustules (large reddish bumps in your skin with white or yellow centers). Before you decide to pop, take a shower or bath to open up your pores. Do not use your fingertips alone; place sterile gauze or two cotton swabs on the fingertips and apply gentle pressure on the region. Spot extractor tools are available which can be useful to pop; sanitize it first by simply rubbing a cotton pad drenched with rubbing alcohol over it. Press it onto the pimple and push down lightly.

Irritated, reddish colored lumps in the skin, which do not have a head, are classified as papules. Never attempt to pop these. Again, a regular, efficient washing regimen may help. Changing your diet and lifestyle will often be an extremely highly effective way of dealing with pimples. Get plenty of fluids and avoid junk foods and also food items higher in salt and sugar; replace these with vegetables, whole grain products and pulses.

Acne that is severe, consisting of cysts or nodules, acne rosacea and other severe types of acne should be dealt with in conjunction with professional medical advice. Spot treatment is probably best not pursued with over-the-counter creams or home remedies in these instances as a combination of treatment plans may be required to obtain the most effective results.

Using A Pimple Extractor That will Get Rid Of Zits

July 14th, 2011

As opposed to hoping to clear away your spots using your fingertips, which might trigger skin damage as well as transfer microbes to face (from tiny particles of dirt and oil on your hands), try out making use of a specially created pimple extractor. This is really a straightforward device, nevertheless is usually remarkably efficient when utilized the right way.

A new pimple extractor will be readily available from pharmacies and also many additional stores. Together with the instrument itself, you will have to have a little rubbing alcohol. Take time to prepare your skin prior to employing the gadget. It removes debris far down inside any pore, removing the spot and helping avoid future skin breakouts.

The most beneficial point to apply this tool is promptly after a warm shower or possibly a face steam simply because your pores will be open and your skin as completely clean as it can be. Alternatively, dip a washcloth in very hot water for a couple of moments, then simply place this over the skin for a short time.

You can expect to observe that your tool offers a looped end. This end needs to be put level on top of your skin, using the hole enveloping your spot. Apply pressure in a gradual, even movement. That should force sebum trapped within the follicle out. If it does not seem to be working, have a break from that. Your pimple may not be completely ready to release, and pressuring it could possibly bring about scarring damage and perhaps irritation.

The other end on the device carries a lancet, that will be used to help you extract whiteheads. This should be sanitized with the rubbing alcohol just before you commence the actual method. Yet again, make sure your whiteheads are set to pop, and never have a shot at pricking deep, cystic zits. Pierce a whitehead with the lancet, and then position the other, looped end on the gadget over the center of this spot and cautiously push downwards, while rolling it backward and forward. That should discharge the oil and get rid of this whitehead.

Just after you’ve done implementing this pimple extractor, rinse your whole face using tepid water and dab this dry with a thoroughly clean, very soft hand towel. Thoroughly clean the gadget with a bit of the rubbing alcohol to ensure it’s ready for the next occasion you need to apply it. Ideally the procedure will get the job done, and the extractor tool is going to be your greatest buddy!

Not sure which product is the best pimple treatment? If you would rather not spend that much money on something you are not sure will be effective, try out some of our great pimple treatment home remedies – you probably have what you need at home already!

Acne – Separating The Truth From The Myth

July 13th, 2011

When it comes to acne, there are a lot of misleading information. Thankfully, scientific research has dispelled a lot of these ‘acne myths’. Now, we pretty much know what causes and what doesn’t cause acne. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest of these acne myths.

Eating certain foods can cause acne.

No scientific proof supports this even though it has been around a long time. There is no universal law that it would apply to everyone although certain individuals experience outbreaks from eating certain foods. Your acne will not increase if you eat chocolates, nuts, pizza, and greasy foods.

Having dirty skin causes acne

Acne is not caused by dirt although having clean skin has other benefits. Under the skin’s surface is where acne is formed and this is due to build-ups of sebum and dead skin cells. Dirt isn’t the one that clogs your follicles.

If you wash your face all the time, then your acne will clear up

This kind of relates to myth #3. Having clean skin is not the answer to preventing acne. Your condition could become worse if you overdo it by constantly washing your face. Further breakouts can be the cause of stripping your skin of oil.

Teenagers are the only ones who get acne.

While 9 out of 10 teenagers experience acne, 1 out of 4 adults also get it. Acne seems to be connected with hormones which would explain why teenagers have such a high incidence of acne, but adults are also going through hormonal changes at various times in their lives.

Stress causes acne

Not considered as a large factor in acne is stress, and this is according to scientific evidence. For many years people thought that acne is caused by stressed but this isn’t true.

You can cure acne

Many people view acne as a disease that can be permanently cured. However, that’s not the case. You can prevent and control acne through proper skin care but you can’t cure it.

Acne Home Remedies That You Should Try

June 27th, 2011

Locating a treatment that can actually help your acne, whether you are trying to treat pimples on your back or face, can be very depressing if the zits will not go away. Many home remedies are available, with some working much better than others, which is usually based upon your skin type. To help you out, we are going to discuss several acne remedies that you can try.

The difficulty with most acne treatments is that they cover up the problem without providing a solution. The reason that acne treatments seldom work is that they only address the symptoms, and not the actual problem. You may actually get worse acne if you apply makeup over the pimples on your face as it tends to dry out your skin even more. What tends to contribute to the problem are cosmetics, which is one reason you should be selective when applying anything on your face. You must address the underlying problem that is causing your face to break out, not just the pimples that are there.

Using egg whites, often used as a home remedy for acne, is very effective. This natural source of protein is actually an excellent cure and preventative for acne. What it also does is remove excess oils from your skin. To do this, simply beat up egg whites in a bowl and put it on your face every day for 15 minutes. You would then rinse the egg whites off of your face using a soft cloth with warm water. Using organic eggs will prove most effective with this treatment. This effective and inexpensive way to treat your acne can work if you are consistent everyday. Though useful, this treatment is for the long-term, not short-term results.

Although home remedies have their uses, consulting a dermatologist for a more immediate result is recommended. Antibiotics are sometimes needed to fight chronic or severe acne, which is a treatment that you must get from a doctor. Another drug, Accutane, is often prescribed by dermatologists for this condition. You may need laser surgery if you have severe acne scars. Instead of going out and spending a large amount of money on an acne treatment, try a home remedy first to see if you get the results you’re looking for.

Acne causes will not be the same for each person because there are several different types. Each individual will have a different acne cure than the next. By staying healthy, and keeping your skin clean and moisturized, you’ll more than likely not develop acne. This article, hopefully, as presented a remedy or two that can help you if you suffer from acne.

Getting Rid Of Acne Naturally And Without Spending

June 20th, 2011

You can find lots of remedies for acne at drugstores and online. However, they’re not necessarily the best solutions for the problem. They usually come with steep price tags and many of them rely on harsh chemicals which can worsen the situation. Fortunately, getting rid of acne can be done naturally, without shelling out some bucks.

In order to get started on some natural remedies, you don’t have to leave your home to find the ingredients. It’s not unlikely that they’re already found in your kitchen, medicine cabinet or garden. You may try each one of the methods below and stick with something which you find more practical and effective.

It’s important to get rid of dead skin cells in order to prevent clogging of pores, leading to more breakouts. Exfoliating about 2 to 3 times every week also promotes cell renewal. Create a natural facial scrub by mixing 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of olive oil or any vegetable oil. Gently apply the mixture on your face with your fingers in slow, circular motions. Afterwards, rinse well with water.

Excess oils need to be eliminated as well, and it can be done with the help of a facial mask. You can whip up your own by using oatmeal. Cook a cup of it according to package directions. Let it cool down completely then spread on your face. Wait for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with water. The rest, if any, may be placed in the refrigerator for the next application.

Another kind of facial mask may be done by using egg. Crack open one and place the white part in a bowl. Using a fork or whisk, beat the egg white until it’s frothy. Apply on your face using your fingers, and leave it to dry for a few minutes or until your face feels taut. Rinse well with water afterwards. Egg white is rich in protein so it helps heal the skin. It also effectively relieves redness and irritation.

Speaking of redness, there’s a quick and natural way to remove such, and what you need is in the medicine cabinet. Eye drops aren’t only good for red eyes, but also red breakouts. Apply 2-3 drops over trouble spots and see the effects immediately. Reapply as often as needed. You may also use ice cubes instead. Simply place over breakouts for a few seconds to get relief.

There are various ways to hasten the drying up of trouble spots. One of them is by applying apple cider vinegar directly onto them before bedtime. Lemon or lime juice is also just as effective. Add some water to baking soda, about 1/2 teaspoon of it, to produce a paste which you then apply where needed. If you have time, you may also make a paste out of grated orange peel and a little water.

Getting rid of acne may also mean checking out your garden for the presence of aloe vera plant. Break off a leaf and apply the gel directly onto problem spots. The plant is rich in antioxidants which help soothe the skin and even reduce scarring. It’s also popular because of its effectiveness in healing burns, insect bites, minor wounds and skin dryness.

An Overview Of Acne Home Remedies That Do Work

June 18th, 2011

If you have chronic acne, and none of the treatments that you have tried have worked, this can be a very embarrassing and upsetting problem. Everyone’s skin is slightly different, therefore there are many home remedies that you should try as some will work better than others. In the article that follows, you may find a solution to help you as we discuss different acne remedies.

Many products sold for the treatment of acne really do nothing but cover up the problem. If you currently have acne all over your face, you may be open to any treatment, but realize that there is a difference between treating the problem and addressing the symptoms. Using makeup may not be a good idea, and can actually worsen your problem, because it will dry out your skin causing potentially worse reactions. That’s why it’s a good idea to be careful what you apply to your face in general when you have acne, as cosmetics may actually be contributing to the problem. So you should really focus on finding products that actually treat the underlying problem and don’t simply mask the pimples.

An effective acne treatment that is a home remedy is using egg whites. Eggs are a natural source of protein, and this can help prevent and cure acne. Using this solution, you can remove excess oils from your skin and pores. You would want to use a facial mask made up of beaten egg whites for about 15 minutes every day. You would then rinse the egg whites off of your face using a soft cloth with warm water. The best eggs to use are large organic eggs for this treatment. While this is an effective and very inexpensive way to treat acne, it’s something you have to do consistently if you want good results. Though this will not instantly remove pimples from your body or face, it will help your skin become more healthy.

While home remedies can often be effective for acne, in some cases you should consult a dermatologist for more powerful treatments. One reason you should visit a doctor is to get antibiotics which may help you clear your acne. There are also drugs such as Accutane that can be effective in cases of scarring. In extreme cases, laser surgery can be used to remove scars. Instead of going out and spending a large amount of money on an acne treatment, try a home remedy first to see if you get the results you’re looking for.

Acne can vary from person to person in regard to the severity and the type. For this reason, finding the best cures aren’t going to be the same for everybody either. By staying healthy, and keeping your skin clean and moisturized, you’ll more than likely not develop acne. Aside from this, the above home remedies can help you control and eventually eliminate acne for good.

Healthy Skin – Protect Your Skin And Prevent Damages

June 17th, 2011

Contributing to lines and wrinkles as well as skin cancer formation are ultraviolet light which damages the genetic material of skin cells. Follow these rules to protect your skin from the sun.

Cumulative is one word to describe sun damage. The risk of developing skin cancer in later years is exposure to ultraviolet light during childhood. Using sunscreen is not just for a day at the beach but it’s also to inhibit further sun damage. With daily exposure, it will add up. It is important to use daily products with SPF for your hands and face and any other exposed skin. Protecting your lips is also important. Opt for a lip balm with SPF 15 because they burn just as quickly.

Getting enough protection is a must. SPF stands for “sun protection factor” and ranges from a base of two to a maximum of 50, providing the strongest protection. Because of SPF, you will be able to determine the amount of time the sunscreen will protect your skin. In general, if your skin is fair, you will burn more quickly than if your skin is olive or dark. You can determine the amount of time you can stay outdoors without burning by taking the number of minutes it takes for unprotected skin to turn red then multiply it with the SPF. An SPF of 15 will give you 150 minutes of sun protection if your unprotected skin start to turn red in ten minutes.

Constant protection should also be used. Reapply sunscreen after swimming or other physical activity and at regular intervals to be sure that perspiration doesn’t leave you unprotected. Reapplying sunscreen re-establishes the protection you have already applied but it doesn’t mean it’s safer to stay longer in the sun.

Make sure to protect sensitive skin. It’s not okay to go without, so start looking at the ingredients. PABA is an effective sunscreen ingredient but you may be allergic to it. Look for a PABA-free sunscreen. If you are allergic to hair dyes, then it’s not a good idea to get sunscreens that contain PABA.

You also need to take care of your hands. Keep a hand lotion with SPF in your glove compartment. When you drive, your hands get a lot of sun so when you’re on the road, apply some sort of SPF so that they will look younger.
